At Subway, you can make it what you want and now there's even a Vegan option so if your Vegan, Veggie or just fancy a meat-free lunch then Subway has you sorted! Introducing the Vegan patty filled with flavours; red pepper, spicy chili, garlic and red onion, add your chosen salad and New Vegan garlic aioli sauce and you've got a tasty meal! Subway even have Vegan bread options including 'Hearty Italian' -my favourite-


Last week I was invited to one of Subway's new stores to try the new Vegan sub and I have to say I was impressed with how much flavour was in the patty, it packs a burst of flavours with a hint of chili and the garlic aioli sauce is delicious! I think this will be my new sauce of choice on my regular Subway lunch trips. The new Vegan menu also comes as a salad so if you want to skip the bread you can create a salad bowl with the Vegan patty also and again don't forget that garlic aioli sauce! The Vegan Sub and Salad is available now nationwide so head to your local Subway to try it for yourself.


Whilst at the event, not only did we get to try the new Vegan menu but also the new 'Ultimate Cheesy Garlic Bread' and if you've not had chance to try this yet, head straight down to your local Subway. Cheese and Garlic butter on your choice of bread creates a tidy snack or up your sub game and add this to any sub choice. The garlic butter has a blend of sweet and smoky roasted garlic and a sprinkling of parsley which melts perfectly into the Subway bread then add the new mix of mozzarella and red cheddar cheese which is bursting with flavour!


After trying the new Subway menu each of us took part in the SubJammin' challenge! This was our chance to see how quickly we can re-create the Turkey Breast Sub against the clock; the challenge was to make the sub in under 60 seconds with everything on the bread, wrapped and bagged with napkins! This was super fun but it was a big challenge, we each had to remember what toppings went on the sub and how many items, which sauce and then keep this on the bread, wrap it and bag it! I did get the quickest time of 1 minute 26 seconds and then at the judging stage won best score for presentation! Big up to all the Subway staff taking part in this challenge!


Finally each of us were able to create our own 'Dream Sub' to take away, it was difficult with so much choice but I went with my favourite filling; Rotisserie chicken, grated cheese, lettuce, carrot, sweetcorn, red onion and of course some of the new garlic aioli on hearty Italian bread. Yummy!

Have you heard of Hempz? They create skin care and hair care products using natural hemp seed oil which is super good for the skin and hair. I've recently been using some of Hempz skin care range, I was kindly sent a moisturiser, body wash and body scrub to sample and let me tell you I've been loving using the products especially the moisturiser.

Pink Pomelo & Himalayan Sea Salt Herbal Body Moisturiser*
This was my favourite of the three products to use as it smells beautiful and the scent is long lasting on my skin. I also particularly like that this bottle has a pump so its so much easier to apply and you never use too much product; I use one to two pumps of cream per leg so it does go a very long way. The moisturiser soaks into my skin beautifully and isn't sticky at all, I can apply this then put pants on pretty much straight away so theres no waiting around for the product to dry. I love that the moisturiser is natural and hemp seed oil is great for the skin, my legs can be dry so I try to use a lot of moisturiser especially after shaving my legs, I've been using Hempz for a few weeks now and I feel like my dry skin has lifted; my legs also look really healthy and smooth even the day after shaving.


Pink Pomelo & Himalayan Sea Salt Herbal Body Scrub*
I use a body scrub around once a week, usually before shaving my legs so I can get a closer shave. When using body scrub I want to feel like my skin is fresh, clean and free from any dirt, built up or nasties. This Hempz body scrub is really soft on my skin and wasn't rough when being used, the product isn't greasy like some scrubs can be and none of us want to be sliding all over the tub so this was a real advantage for someone as clumsy as me. Again the scent is beautiful and really does stick around for a while on the skin, I can use this before bed, apply the moisturiser and wake up in the morning with the lovely scent on my skin. Hempz body scrub has all the natural elements inside just like the moisturiser but also has vitamins A, C and E which help to protect skin from any natural oxidants or elements again fighting free-radicals. I believe this scrub gives my skin an extra boost of softness and works well with the moisturiser to smooth my skin.


Pink Pomelo & Himalayan Sea Salt Herbal Foaming Body Wash*
Lastly to complete the trio of products is a foaming body wash so your Pink Pomelo & Himalayan sea salt skin care routine starts with this body wash. Enhanced with all the same natural ingredients as the other two products and with the same scent, I can't get enough of this body wash; my shower is filled with a beautiful scent, clean and fresh skin and lasting results. The wash foams up so less product is actually needed, you can use this on a shower puff or just use your hands to cleanse your skin. I don't seem to of used much of the wash at all as the foam spreads out and just a few pumps are needed; yes this product also has a pump action lid which again is an advantage. This nourishing body foam is the start of my skin care routine and again works really well with its sister products to help my skin feel; soft, smooth, clean and fresh.


Hempz is available from a few online retailers, you can see their stocklist here and they are affordable too. With small bottles of moisturiser priced at £3.99, I think this is great natural and budget brand that should be in everyones skin care routine.

The beauty world isn’t just made up of makeup products and although us bloggers talk about skin care and hair care as well we don’t mention hygiene products all that much. Deodorant is an everyday essential and finding a product that works can be difficult.

It’s always so exciting when Kat Von D Beauty release new products but when they are limited edition it’s even more special. Kat announced that she was releasing a makeup collection inspired by the one and only drag queen Divine. Divine is one of Kat’s muses and she wanted this palette to be a symbol of individuality, self expression and positivity. Divine was a very inspiring person and always stayed true to himself, he brought hope and inspiration to marginalised subcultures. A fun fact is that Disney’s Ursula was inspired by Divine, how awesome is that! The Kat Von D x Divine collection is super limited edition and has an 8-pan eyeshadow palette and a studded kiss lipstick.

Ever wondered what goes on at a LUSH Blogger event? Yeah, me too and now I can tell you. On Tuesday I was invited to the LUSH store in the Arndale Centre, Manchester for a Bloggers Beauty School evening; I was super excited to go and get stuck into the activities they had planned for the night and meet some lovely bloggers whilst I was there.


The evening started at 5pm and there was quite a few bloggers in attendance, we was all given a beauty school invite with a number 1, 2 or 3 on it; this was the group you would be in for the night. I was in group one with 6 other bloggers and our first stop was the green house.

The Green House - Hand-making our own LUSH products

In the green house the staff member, Alex, told us that the Arndale store the only LUSH store with a green house, how cool is that? He was excellent at answering all of our questions and gave us so much information on how the products are made in the LUSH factory in Poole. All of the products are handmade and you can see who's made the product from the sticker on the tubs. After all this interesting information we actually made some products ourselves. First up was 'The Comforter' which is actually a favourite bubble bar of mine because of the sweet scent of blackcurrant from the Cassis ingredient; the bar also has calming properties with having Cypress Oil in it too.

To create the bubble bar we had to grab a handful of pink and a handful of white and twist them together to make the swirl design, we all know and love on the Comforter however this is a super skill and none of us managed a perfect swirl or even any swirls. I tried to roll my compounds then twist them together as if I was working with icing when baking, this still was unsuccessful but we all went home with our very own Comforter that we had made. With or without swirls the bubble bar will be beautiful in the bath and create lots and lots of bubbles.



The second product we made was the Ickle Baby Bot bath bomb which is a product I've never used mainly because of the lavender scent although lavender has a calming and refreshing effect I tend to have a sneezing effect as well. When making the bath bombs the scent wasn't over powering and I was actually sneeze free so I might give this little bath bomb a go. This bath bomb is a gentle product which is great to relax children at bath time, it's safe to use with children over 6 months old according to the LUSH website. I was interested to hear from Alex that lavender is used to treat skin irritations because it has healing properties so this was new information to me which I'm glad I now know. Little bits of information like this show that the LUSH staff are really passionate about the products and learn what the ingredients are used for.



Henna Hair Colour demonstration & Knot-Wrap tutorial

My group moved onto the hair section of the evening with some more lovely staff members telling us all about LUSH hair styling products and Henna treatments. I'm already a keen user of LUSH shampoo bars and I have used a couple of their conditioners in the past too. I particularly like how long my shampoo bars last, they are such good value lasting me around 2-3 months!

Whilst one of the team was preparing the Henna to demonstrate how to apply it to the hair we was introduced to some LUSH styling products. I was interested in seeing what the products can do for the hair and was glad that each product was passed around the group for us to try if we wanted too. Sea Spray seemed like a favourite of the group, this gives the hair shine and that beach look we all dream of in the summer. I currently have quite dry hair from a previous bleaching job so when I was shown R&B, a hair moisturiser with a rich blend of oils to help restore hair to its natural state I was sold and it smelt amazing. Another product that caught my eye was Mr Dandy's Hair Candy, with fresh banana that holds the hair but still leaving a lightweight look and it has Almond oil in it which hydrates the hair. This hair candy can be used on wet or dry hair and the uses are endless, add texture by using on wet hair and blow drying or apply to finished looks to tidy loose hairs, I took a sample of this home with me to try out myself too.


The Henna treatment was now ready, to get the henna ready you can use 2 bowls as a bain-marie or a heat-proof bowl in a saucepan. With hot water in the bigger bowl, place the blocks of henna (2 blocks for longish hair) in the smaller bowl on top of the water and cover the blocks in hot water, after a few minutes stir the henna into a thick hot chocolate consistency; you can always add more hot water if needed. LUSH have helpful guides in store for you to take home and read through too.
LUSH Henna (Les Cacas) is made from quality Persian henna and is known for giving the best red tones although LUSH offer a few shades; Caca Rouge (really red), Caca Marron (red with indigo and ground coffee darker notes), Caca Brun (indigo) and Caca Noir (dark indian indigo). Henna usually has a strong dried leaf smell but LUSH have added essential oils so your hair is left with a pleasant scent after using. All of these Henna hair colours are safe, Vegan and 100% natural which is of course what you'd expect from LUSH but you also know these won't damage your hair either.

We watched as the prepared henna was applied to the models dry hair in sections making sure to cover each bit of hair. Working from the back first and from roots to the ends. The procedure looked really easy but I doubt I could apply this on my own like I would normally do with hair dye, I would have to get a friend to help me out to make sure I applied the henna evenly. Once the hair is covered with henna, cling film is wrapped around the hair and left on for at least one hour and then shampooed out, easy peezy.


Another staff member showed us how to wear a LUSH Knot-Wrap as a hair accessory by creating a rose shape in the scarf, we was all able to have a go of this because there was a Christmas themed knot-wrap in our goodie bags which is made from 2 recycled plastic bottles. I found this tutorial quite easy and I will be wearing my knot-wrap over Christmas and throughout the year, I may have to purchase another wrap. We was also shown how to wrap gifts/products in the knot-wrap which again was quite easy but may take some practise, I like the idea of giving a gift wrapped like this because it's like an extra gift and they can reuse it and pass it on. This is all part of LUSH's Naked packaging quality and helps stop paper being used and wasted.

LUSH Makeup tutorial & product introduction

The final section of the evening for group one was my favourite parts being all about LUSH makeup which is only available in the Manchester Arndale store, Oxford Street London and Japan so its like an exclusive part of the store. I'm so happy the Arndale store is lucky enough to stock the range because it's all fantastic. The makeup tutorial started with 3 members of staff each applying different products to a model, first up was eyes. The amazing eye jewels which are 30% pigment and are so colourful, I was so impressed with how bright in colour they are; there are 12 shades available priced at £10.00 each. The eye jewel can be applied straight to your eyes or used with a brush, the staff member went straight in with the jewel then blended with a brush leaving a metallic look on the models eyes. An eyeliner was applied next which also had a metallic look to it, again this was highly pigmented and looked pretty easy to apply. The eyes was finished with an inner eye highlight and LUSH mascara.



Base makeup was applied next by another staff member, each was really talkative and told us about each product they was using and passed them around for us to see. LUSH have there own foundation in lots of different shades, I swatched the one that was passed around on my hand and although it wasn't my correct shade it was so blendable and a little bit went a long way. A highlighter was used next to add radiance to the models cheek bones, down her nose and on her brow bone, this product came in the same sized pot as the foundation and was very white in colour, when swatched it left a magical shade of iridescent glow on my hand.
Of course a little blush was added and then onto the models lips went a gorgeous orange/red shade which really made the models face pop, she looked amazing!
The tutorial ended and we had some time to check out all of the makeup products available and have a play with each product. I already have a wish list of makeup items I want which I will probably pick up with some Christmas money.



Everyone was also really pleased with the foodie treats, the trainee manger Colin had made vegetarian biscuits in the shape of the eye jewel makeup and these tasted so good, there was one in our goodie bags too was that went quickly once I got home. Colin had also made Vegan cupcakes themed like the cupcake face mask and I have to say I fully enjoyed this chocolaty cupcake, thanks Colin! You can check out Colin's website and youtube here.


Since each group had made different products there was some left over items at the end of the night so these was given out to us as well, I got the Angels on Bare Skin fresh cleanser because I haven't tried this so wanted to give something new a go. A staff member was also using the last of the Butterbear mixture up, making them into bath bombs so I got to make another bath bomb and take that home too.

I'd like to say a massive Thank You to the LUSH Arndale team for inviting me down for the evening, it was an excellent evening filled with lots of activities, information, fun and treats. All the LUSH staff were really nice and you can see and feel the passion they have for LUSH and their jobs, it's made me want to join the team; I'll be applying for a job next time they are taking on for sure, I want to join the LUSH family. As far as blogger events go with how well planned out the evening was, it was one of the best events I've been too. I hope there will be more in the future.

A while back I signed up to the Social Berry site, this website helps bloggers socialise with other bloggers and find collaborations with brands. I recently applied for a couple of the colabs and received a reply from Paul Mitchell to try out the Ultimate Color Triple Rescue; I was very excited to start using this product.

Paul Mitchell was started 35 years ago by 2 friends who wanted to provide luxury hair care products at affordable prices and support the success of the hairdressing industry. As well as producing high quality hair care products, Paul Mitchell went the extra mile and in the 1980's was the first professional beauty company to stand up against animal testing; which means that Paul Mitchell products are cruelty free.

My first impressions as I opened the parcel was that the product packaging looked very professional, like something you'd see for sale and being used in a hair salon. Since Paul Mitchell is a professional hair care company I wouldn't of expected any less, the branded bottle was easy to read, the information was clear and the instructions was easy to follow.


The ultimate color triple rescue is a duel-phase spray that protects colour treated hair against heat. Without heat protection hair can experience colour fading and have a dull look to it, which none of us want. The duel-phase product has two parts, one part to protect hair against heat and the other part conditions the hair with Quinoa color repair complex, which keeps hair looking healthy, vibrant and shiny. To achieve these results you need to shake the bottle well before spraying onto damp towel dried hair. This product is paraben free, vegan, has UV and thermal protection and is color safe too, I think these properties make the product very desirable to me and other beauty/hair care enthusiasts.

I've used this product quite a few times now and can see a clear result on my hair; not long ago I stripped out black dye then bleached my hair so it is in need of a good condition and any help it can get. My current hair care routine includes; brushing with my Tangle Teezer, a hair mask, sliver shampoo, Lush conditioner and this Paul Mitchell spray.


Shaking the product well creates a sparkly liquid inside the bottle, the pump spray is easy to use just like a normal spray bottle product. I pick up a coconut-like scent when spraying onto my damp hair which is very pleasant and lasts until my hair is dry. As for heat I occasionally use a hair dryer (I leave to dry naturally more often) and I use my hair straighteners once my hair is dry after each wash so I need a good heat protection product like this one.


My final thoughts on the Ultimate Color Triple Rescue is that my hair felt in better condition after using this product within my hair care routine, I enjoyed using the spray to protect my already damaged hair from heat and my hair actively looks more shinny in it's appearance. I like the products scent, the results I've gained and that the product is paraben and cruelty free too. I will continue to use this triple rescue spray and am going to buy the shampoo and conditioner from the same range. I believe these products will continue to help my damaged hair and help restore it to a full and healthy look that I once had.

As we all know by now, Kat Von D Beauty launched here in the UK last month and opened their first UK beauty counter in Debenhams Oxford Street London on October 5th. I can't wait to get down to London to shop on the counter and get shade matched for the highly recommended 'Lock It' foundation.

Last month Love Me Beauty had KvD Beauty products available, this was before the official launch so it was very exciting to be able to get my hands on some of the products early.
Love Me Beauty is a monthly subscription box that lets you choose your own products so you'll always receive products you want, each month you get 60 credits on your account and can choose from lots of different beauty treats. I tend to always pick up the makeup items but I have had Tangle Teezer hair brushes and Eco tools makeup brushes in the past from this subscription. Each month your items come in a small makeup bag, I received an Aztec printed bag which is big enough to fit lots of makeup in.


Of course I wanted to get my hands on the KvD Beauty products so made my beauty picks as soon as possible, with my 60 credits I was able to get all 3 of the KvD items including; an Ink Liner in shade 'Trooper', an Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in shade 'Outlaw' and a Studded Kiss Lipstick in shade 'Magick'. Each product is a sample sized which are the perfect size for popping in your handbag.

In September I also purchased the special edition KvD Beauty London Calling set from Debenhams (read my post here), this set had a Tattoo Liner included which is very very similar to this Ink liner. I was impressed with the high quality of this liner from first application, the calligraphy shaped tip makes applying the product easy and effortless. After just one stroke I was left with a black line on my eye lid that did hold up against my current liner however there was a little shade fading throughout the day which I didn't get with the Tattoo liner. I will continue to use this liner but will probably opt to purchase the Tattoo liner not this Ink Liner in the future.


Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in shade Outlaw
This is a bold and bright red shade which is just gorgeous, I do enjoy wearing a red lip especially when I'm going out. To achieve an amazing red lip look you need a product that's long-lasting, applies smoothly and feels comfortable; this everlasting liquid lipstick does just that! The wand included in the lid gives me smooth application and theres no need for any other tools. I also found I didn't need to use a lip liner when wearing this lipstick although liner is useful it wasn't needed, the liquid lipstick drys within a few seconds leaving a matte finish; my favourite. I can't wait to try other shades in the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick range.


Studded Kiss Lipstick in shade Magick 
This is my favourite product of the 3 I received mainly because of the packaging, usually with mini/sample sized products the packaging is different to the full size items but not with KvD Beauty. This Studded Kiss lipstick is in the same beautiful and edgy packaging as the full size, its complete with a stud-like design all over it and the KvD logo on top of the lid; all the art work for KvD Beauty's products is drawn/designed by Kat Von D herself. As for the shade, it's pinky nude shade which would suit anyone I think, it's an perfect everyday shade because its not an in your face colour. The lipstick has a satin finish and is super easy to apply, actually the size of the lipstick makes it even easier to apply than a full size lipstick so this was an advantage. I will be purchasing a full size lipstick in this shade as soon as this mini has run out.

Recently I was contacted by SparklePR who wanted to send me some Brushworks products to try out, I agreed after having a look at some of the products on False Eyelashes Website; I liked the look of a couple of brushes and the brush guards they have available.

Brushworks is a full range of makeup brushes and beauty accessories that are affordable quality products, created with Brushworks no nonsense approach to beauty. The range includes; brushes, nail tools, makeup sponges, tweezers and foot care products too; all of which have a colourful look to them. As an added extra all the Brushworks brushes are Vegan friendly and Allergy free too which is always a plus for me.


I was luckily sent three items to try out including; the Foundation Brush, Brush Guards and a Multi Tasking Brush, all of which I couldn't wait to try out. The packaging looked fun and admirable with pink and purple colours and clear readable text. Each of the products packaging has the Brushworks brand information and product information including item uses and how to care for the items on the back. All the text is very informative, it's nice to be able to see this information before opening the packaging, if I saw these products in a store I could find out everything about the item before buying from reading the text on the packet and not having to open the product for a leaflet inside.



Foundation Brush - £5.99*
This is a flat oval shaped foundation brush which is great for applying makeup if you want a full coverage finish; the brush moves your makeup over your skin smoothly. The brush itself is quite soft for a foundation brush, towards other brushes I've used in the past, this is ok however I think if this brush was more dense it would apply my makeup slightly better. The softness of the brush means this brush is safe to use around the delicate eye area to a apply foundation or concealer. I like the handle and design of the brush with the purple bristle holder (my favourite colour) and the matte black handle which has the brands name and type of brush printed on it; for beginners these brushes would be great because of this. The handle is also nice and short and fits into my hand comfortably which is another advantage.


Brush Guards - £5.99*
Brush guards are something I've never used before but now wish I had; these nifty products are great for travelling and protecting my makeup brushes. The guards come in three flexible sizes which fit all brush types, I've tested these guards on different sized brushes from large powder to eye shadow brushes and even oval shaped brushes. I found that eye/lip liner brushes are better guarded if I put more than one brush in the guard, this means they are still protected but not falling out of the guard. Each guard is made from a clear net like material that stretches over any brush comfortably; these are strong and easy to use. To use pop the end of your makeup brush into the brush guard and slide the guard up over the brush bristles; easy as that. The guards protect your brushes from fraying and any damage especially when travelling, if you always throw your brushes into your makeup bag these would be great for you. The packet comes with 15 guards and since they are super affordable if 15 isn't enough you can purchase a other packet without breaking the bank.



Multi Tasking Brush - £6.99*
No other brush I own is called a multi tasking brush so I was very interested in seeing what this brush could do, as the name suggests it has multiple uses. I used this brush for applying, powder foundation, finishing powder, contour products, blush, highlighter and dusting off excess shadow under my eyes so I would agree that this brush is definitely a multi tasking tool. The round and soft brush head is perfect for applying all of these products above, you could have this brush and not need another; making it really good value for money. The handle has the same design as the foundation brush above with the brands name and brush use on the short matte black handle. I have really enjoyed using this brush and will continue to use it well into the future. I washed both this and the foundation brush and was impressed that the brushes dried well and product easily washed out the bristles with no effort at all; this shows me that they are good quality.



Overall my first impressions of the Brushworks brand are that they are good value for money, well designed and the brush guards especially are innovative, I'd like to see what other products the company will create next.
