Hey, I’m Gem, a festival enthusiast, gig-goer, impulsive shopper, and ever-evolving content creator from Greater Manchester. With a love for all things eclectic and alternative, I’m always embracing new interests—thanks to my ADHD brain that keeps me on my toes.

I started blogging with a focus on beauty product reviews, and over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with some amazing brands and attend incredible events. As my interests grew, so did my blog, and I began sharing my love for fashion, particularly my alternative style and ever-expanding shoe collection. My degree in International Fashion Practice really fueled my passion for fashion, and I’m excited to continue weaving that into my content, alongside my growing tattoo collection and unique individual style.

The pandemic definitely shifted things for me, as it did for many. With events on hold and fewer brand partnerships, I took a step back from blogging. However, I continued to share my reviews and my lifestyle on Instagram, where I stayed connected with my community.

Now, I’m bringing a fresh direction to GemsUpNorth. I’m archiving older posts, updating fan favourites, and adding new content—especially focusing on festival and gig reviews, which have always been a huge part of my life. I also want to explore my experience as a late-diagnosed neurodivergent and how ADHD shapes my world, from my interests to my creative process. Oh, and not forgetting there will now be dog content as well, because I have @Mabel.Of.Mayhem on my team now!
