On Sunday I attended my second London Edge Trade show as a blogger, after February's show I was able to work with Lindy Bop and a few other brands. I spoke to the Lindy Bop team before the show and we decided to conduct a short interview whilst at the show on Sunday, I put posts out on social media to ask everyone for their questions and added a few of my own questions in there too.


I headed over to the Lindy Bop stand which was situated at the top of the stairs, the stand was filled with dresses, clothing, bags and shoes from the Autumn / Winter collection; I had a look through and found some amazing pieces that I must get my hands on.

Sophie is the garment tech at Lindy Bop and was of course dressed in a gorgeous Lindy Bop dress from the upcoming collection, she looked lovely! We had a little chat then got started with the interview.


Question 1 - "How would you describe the Lindy Bop style?"

Sophie - "The Lindy Bop style to me is; fun, flattering and feminine. It's a nod of the head to the classic eras of 1940's and 1950's but with a Lindy Bop twist. They are the dresses that people want and love!

Question 2 - "What's your favourite Autumn / Winter pieces and can you show us?"

Sophie -"ooooo theres so many to choose from" -laughs-

"Well I'm wearing Magnolia which I love, we also have the Caite Deer jumper which is showcasing on the catwalk today as well. This beautiful floral dress is Brett, the pleat detail on the bodice is lovely. We have the Maybelle dress in Smoke which is a two piece; it's very elegant and can be worn with or without the jacket and lastly we have the Sabina dress from the Silver Screen range which is very Hollywood glamour; perfect for events and parties."





Question 3 - "Is there anymore events coming up that Lindy Bop will be at?"

Sophie - "Yes, next week we are at Curve Fashion Festival in Liverpool, I'm really excited about it as it's our first time at this event. We will have lots of new A/W pieces for people to check out and you can sign up to the mailing list on the day."

Question 4 - "What's life like working at Lindy Bop?"

Sophie - "-smiling- It's fun, everyday is different at Lindy Bop. I also enjoy working at trade shows and events like London Edge because its an opportunity to speak to the customers in person and get feedback from them. We're all friends in the office too so we have a laugh. This really is my dream job!!"

Question 5 - "What's next from Lindy Bop?"

Sophie - "Spring / Summer will bring lots of pastels, floral's and some really girly and fun pieces. We've done another take on the book shelf print which is perfect for Halloween and we've got lots and lots of new bags, purses, satchels and shoes coming soon and look out for something mini next year!"


Kirsty on Facebook asked - "Do you do custom designs?"

Sophie - "No we don't but we just ran a competition to design your own dress so this would be a great opportunity to get a custom design; we will be running another design competition in the future so look out for that. Also our design team are always open to suggestions and design ideas so feel free to email them"

Sandra on Facebook asked "How are your designs chosen? and Do you make anything else with your designs on other than clothing?"

Sophie - "Our design team do research and design the pieces then our M.D chooses the final designs to go through to the sample stage. Designs are then chosen from the samples to go into production and on sale."

Sophie (second question) - "Yes, we have just started doing cushions which we are really excited about as we have used some of our favourite prints and catered these to fit onto the cushion cases; my personal favourite is the Corgi print."

Heidi on Facebook asked - "Will you be doing any other homeware items since you now have cushions available?"

Sophie - "Yes, yes, yes ... keep your eyes pealed!"-excited smiles-

Nat on Twitter asked - "Will you ever do a Men's range?"

Sophie - "It's something to consider but we have no plans for it at the moment however our team is always open to ideas and suggestions."

Cat on Facebook asked - "What size do Lindy Bop go up too and do you carry all sizes in each style?"

Sophie - "Our clothing comes in sizes 8 to 26 although we now have some select pieces coming in a size 28 so watch this space. Some of our wiggle dresses only go up to a size 22 but if we see a demand for bigger sizes in these, we will try and cater for them."


It was really interesting to learn a bit more about the Lindy Bop brand from one it's team members and see the new Autumn / Winter collection in person. This is the first interview I've conducted and it was really fun to do, even the prep beforehand was enjoyable; I'll definitely be looking at doing more interviews in the future.

If you caught my last couple of fashion posts you'll of seen that I featured a couple of Lindy Bop dresses and I have my final instalment from that short series here. I'm truly grateful to Lindy Bop for sending me the dresses over and have really enjoyed putting together these blog posts and photoshoots; I hope there will be other opportunities in the future. I also discussed with Sophie from Lindy Bop about interviewing her at London Edge in September so I hope that can go ahead as well.


So I think I've saved the most summery dress of the lot til last and I think its perfect timing to show you the *Brittany Pink Verona Print Love Heart Swing Dress in all it's glory and how I've styled this dress with my alternative personal style. The dress has an amazing print that's got a very romantic theme to it in my opinion with the city buildings, roses, tattoo style heart print and text. My favourite parts of the print is the swallows carrying the hearts across the top of the dress and the bright red roses on the bottom of the dress, both of these are just small details within the full print and the closer you look at the dress the more you see. You can get lost within the print and create your own love story by just looking at it.

This dress was the first dress to catch my eye on the London Edge Catwalk back in February not only because of the heart shaped back detail but the print really stood out to me. I'm actually visiting the romantic city of Paris in October and I've already got this dress on my packing list and can't wait to wear it around Paris and Disneyland.


Lindy Bop dresses are always true to size and comfortable to wear, this 'Brittany' style dress is shaped perfectly for my body type; it goes in at the waist, has a flared out skirt that doesn't necessarily need an underskirt/tutu and the cap sleeves fit snugly but comfortably. If I was to wear this dress to a wedding or event I would wear a tutu underneath to enhance the shape of the dress and give my look a more glamorous feel but I think the dress stands up for itself alone for a party look or everyday style. The dress is made from Lindy Bop's special matte finish stretch poly fabric which adds to the comfort of the fit and gives the dress a beautiful shine so the print really stands out. Getting in and out of the dress is also super easy with a concealed underarm zip and 3 cute button fastenings at the top of the heart shaped back detail.


Of course I always like to add my style to any outfit and wearing a pretty dress isn't my everyday style but it sure could be. I added one of my faux leather jackets to this look which helped with the occasional cool breeze whilst I was out shooting. I choose to wear my Black Embroidered Western Boots that I bought from Misguided after Christmas, I thought the rose detail on the boots matched the rose detail on the dress whilst the studs added my grunge style to the outfit. I absolutely love these boots and Misguided have become a favourite place to shop for me, their customer service is on point and they always have amazing deals on. I did find I had to go up a size with these boots because they are pointed but are a good and comfortable fit still.


Lastly I can't go into Primark lately without a new bag catching my eye so I had to buy this Pale Pink Crossbody bag. I thought the swallow bird detail on the clasp totally went with the swallow print on the dress and was the main reason I bought the bag; at just £7.00 I thought it was a bargain too. I don't really feel like the bag looks like a cheap bag nor does it feel like one; the bags quality is top notch for the budget price. The stitching is good, fastening is easy to use, the strap is strong and holds the bag well and finally the buckle detail looks hard wearing. I've been using this bag for a few days now and can fit all my belongings inside that I need on a daily basis including my full size purse, keys, hand gel, mirror, lipstick and a pen.


My full outfit really shows my personalty I think, I may have a pretty dress on but I can still be my alternative styled self and look good doing so. I also wanted my makeup to stand out by wearing a bad ass red lipstick again adding to my personal style and red lipstick is something I wear regularly; I'm quite comfortable wearing an intense red shade and you can't go wrong with a red lip in my opinion.

Spring is here guys and that means longer and hopefully warmer days, we seem to have had a couple of good Spring days for it to continue to rain and blowing a gale again; typical British weather I suppose. Anyway I'm feeling good that we at least have more longer days which is a bloggers dream, more light, more time, more photos and better lighting.

At the weekend me and the boy went down to visit our parents for Mother's Day and did a photoshoot whilst we was there. I'd already taken a few photographs featuring the *'Brittany Teal Study Print dress' that I was kindly sent but I wanted to get some more images in the Spring daylight and in a new location. We decided to shoot in a wooded area with all the greenery to match the dress and make the details pop. If you caught my last Lindy Bop post featuring the Audrina Roller Skate dress you'll know that Lindy Bop contacted me after London Edge and sent me a few dresses to review and here is the second post.


Since the Spring air is still a bit crisp I wanted to wear tights with the dress to keep me warm although on Sunday I think I could of gone bare legged with socks, maybe. I kept the green theme and paired the Study Print dress with one of my favourite pairs of shoes from Underground shoes; these Macbeth creepers are so comfortable and I never had to break them in, they are a perfect fit and have kept looking newish because of the patent material. I can literally wear these creepers with anything even though they are green they work with jeans, skirts, dresses and much more. I'd love a pair in black so I could wear them for work too.


The Study Print on the dress is totally up my street with the camera print alone, I'm a photography junkie especially after studying the subject at college and continuing my love for it through university and even now, I just wish I had more time to go on photography days. The dress has typewriters with slogan text 'Like A Boss' and 'Working 9-5, contrasting coloured telephones and numbers/letters floating in the negative space around the illustrations. All these images fit together perfectly and fill the dress nicely.

There's another amazing detail on this dress that made me love it even more, check out the back of the dress ...... the heart shaped back really makes me want this style of dress in every print that Lindy Bop create. The 3 little buttons fasten at the top with elastic loops and there is a concealed zip under the arm to help get the dress on and your left with this beautiful fit and a dress that can be worn anyway of the week.


Now lets talk about the pockets! I love a dress with pockets and the heart shape theme continues from the back of the dress to the front with these cute contrasting colour heart shaped pockets; how cute? I must admit you can't really fit much in them apart from some loose change, an extra memory card for you camera or some butter mints (thinking vintage here) but they add a pop of colour and heart detail to the front of the dress.


Last but not least the jelly tote bag that I've paired the dress with, went along with the vintage style of Lindy Bop and was in another contrasting but similar colour in mint green. I picked this little bag up from the Kid's section in H&M last year, they had a few colours in but I went with this mint one as it was a little different; I only paid £2.99 for this too, what an absolute bargain!


Jumping back onto the 'Spring is here' conversation, what's everyone got planned? April has become a busy month for me starting with a gig this weekend, comic con the weekend after, I'm away with the boy over Easter and then the weekend after that its my friends engagement party. The party will give me chance to wear one of my Lindy Bop dresses though; not that I need an excuse.
