Birthday Freebies 2020
February 24, 2020
February is my
favourite month of the year as it's my Birthday month! This year (2020) I hit
the big 3-0 and I did have the fear however for all of you who are worried
about turning 30 this year; do not worry! I repeat 'do not worry' it isn't so
bad and it's actually pretty much the same as any other birthday but people
make more of a fuss! Totally worth it though!
Anyway back to what
I want to share with you, back in 2018 I wrote a blog post featuring freebies,
treats and perks you could get on your birthday and within your birthday month.
Since it's been a couple years since then, I decided to give the post an update
and let you know what treats I got this year!
Most of you will
probably know that if stores have loyalty schemes, cards or email lists you
will more than likely get a birthday treat; a lot will be a discount code but
some are bigger freebies!
I started to receive
my birthday emails back in January so make sure you sign up to any of these a
least two months before your birthday so you don't miss out.
My favourite freebie
I received this year was from Debenhams Beauty Club… I received an email 2
weeks before my birthday with the following info…
Free 45 minutes KVD
Beauty makeover for you and a friend
Elizabeth Arden -
Free 15 minute facial (2 weeks before or after your birthday)
Blow Ltd - Free 15
min hand and nail treatment (selected stores with Blow Ltd salons)
I was super chuffed
that KVD Beauty were included and I booked me and Mum straight in for that, we
managed to fit it into a birthday day out so we had a beautiful afternoon on
the KVD counter in Manchester Debenhams.
Paperchase - TreatMe Card - Free £5.00 voucher to spend in-store or online. I spent mine on a new
pen, couple of postcards and a keychain; I only added about £1.50 to the bill!
(You've got 4 weeks to spend the voucher)
The Body Shop -
£5.00 voucher to spend in-store or online with your Love Your Body loyalty
card. It was good timing for me as the new Hemp overnight mask had just
launched so I used the £5.00 off the cost of that. You can also book in for a
free skin consultation.
Spectrum Collections
- another new on for this year sent me 500 Spectrum points to use on their
website, I already had some points so now I have £10 to spend on the website.
The above were the
bigger treats of the month but a discount code is always a win so here's a list
of what I received… plus I'm sure there are more stores and brands sending
these out if your signed up to their email lists.
Very - 10% off
discount code (single use only)
River Island - £5
off a minimum spend of £10 (valid for 14 days from email sent)
Vans 10% off code
(expires after 30 days/one use only)
Feelunique - 20% off
code (one time use, expires 2 days after receiving email)
Disney Store - 15%
off at Disney Store or online (use within birthday month)
Boohoo - 25% off
code (one use only, valid for 1 week from receiving email)
H&M - 25% off
one item
Cheshire Oaks - 10%
discount (valid for 6 months from birthday)
House of Fraser -
10% off your next purchase (T&C's apply)
As well as discounts
and vouchers, I also got free food!
Free Doughnut from
Krispy Kreme (2 weeks to claim from receiving email/only in Krispy Kreme
stores)
Hard Rock Café - Buy
on Entrée, get one free (valid for a month)
Frankie &Benny's - choice of Buy one main, get one free or £10 bottle of prosecco (can be
used up to 2 months after receiving)
Subway - Free cookie
(One month time limit to claim)
Greggs - Free Sweet
treat (rewarded on the app)
And finally a couple
of points perks from Boots and Superdrug…
Boots - Double
points throughout all birthday month
Superdrug -
Quadruple points for 4 days starting on your birthday
It's been a good
year for birthday treats and perks, there will definitely be lots I have missed
or am just not signed up too.
Don't forget if you
don't want your email inbox loaded with discount emails and offers, create a
new email dedicated to signing up to mailing lists. You'll still get all the
perks but without overloaded your regular email box.
Let me know if you
find any more birthday treats?
