Vegan Skincare from DayTox*

January 08, 2019

A lot of people are doing Veganuary this month and although I am not I have made a few changes to my diet and product use. I want to try to do my bit as much as I can, as for products and makeup I currently use, I choose cruelty free options over non cruelty free already and if theres a Vegan option in a product I will look into this also. Recently I was kindly sent some face-masks to try from Daytox. Daytox are a vegan skincare brand that are made in Germany with love and care and they have a range of different skincare products to suit everyone.

I do love a good face mask and try to use them weekly so my skin gets the treat it deserves, generally I prefer to use peel off masks and I was happy to find a peel off mask from Daytox.
A peel off mask always makes me feel like my skin has had a good clean and feels refreshed after using this type of mask. What I want from any mask I use is to feel like my skin is cleaner, fresher, soft and smooth and of course keep my skin looking great; any masks that can help control break outs are also an advantage.

Since the masks arrived I've been using them weekly together and separately although I have favoured the peel off mask as you can imagine.

Daytox Peel-Off mask* is a black in colour active charcoal mask which is best used for combating excess oil and can help keep blackheads at bay. Using charcoal in a mask isn't new to me but I really liked the texture of this mask; it smoothed onto my skin at ease and had a cold sensation with helped perk my skin up once applied. The packaging recommends to use the mask on your t-zone, nose and chin which are problem areas for blackheads for a lot of people. I tried this both ways and applied to these areas and to all over my face too. It took around 25 minutes for the mask to dry before I was able to peel it off which is a little longer than some other masks that I have used; this was not a problem as I had a longer time to relax. After a few weeks of using the mask especially on my problem areas like my t-zone which is a little oily and my nose which can get blackheads and I truly think the mask has helped. My skin feels less oily on a daily bases now, since I haven't changed up my skin care within the time of using these masks I have put it down to these Daytox products. On the packaging it states that this mask can be used 2-3 times a week so I've upped the t-zone area to 2 times a week and will continue to use the mask.

The other mask that I received was the Volcanic Mud mask* from Daytox, which also helps to absorb excess oil as well as cleansing your skin without drying it out. Daytox say it's a 2 in 1 product because it can be used as a cleansing foam or a face mask. As I've been using the Peel-Off mask on my problem areas I decided to use this Volcanic Mud mask as a daily facial wash. The texture is smooth still and adding water gives a cleansing foam effect that can be moved around your face in circular motions. Along side the mask I feel that these products have worked well together in helping rid excess oil from my skin. On a couple of occasions I used this Volcanic Mud mask with the Peel-Off, applying this mask to the other areas of my face whilst still using the Peel off on my problem areas. Again I left the masks for around 25 minutes and then first took off the Peel-off mask then washed off the Volcanic Mud Mask with some warm soapy water. My skin felt clean and fresh after using these together yet still soft and smooth.

I do believe that using one brands products together can have a advantage as they are made to work together. The Peel off mask was my clear favourite here but I really liked how my skin felt fresh after using the face wash daily. The fact that both these products are Vegan, cruelty free and free of silicones, parabens and synthetic colours makes them even more of a quality and safe product.
