Billion Dollar Brows - Universal Eyebrow Pencil* Review

October 03, 2017

Brow products are a stable in everyone’s make bag now and I personally wear brow products on my eyebrows daily. I remember as a teenager I’d pluck my eye brows into thin lines; oh the horror of that now. I was recently sent this *Universal Brow Pencil from Billion Dollar Brows to sample, I’ve had it in my makeup bag for a few weeks now.

Billion Dollar Brows or BDB started in 2004 and has become a huge success, created by Natalie in her living room as a personal project the brand soon took off. After a year BDB was providing fans, MUA's and makeup lovers with the best pencils, gels and powders all made from quality materials, this is all the same today. BDB are moving with the trends and industry market; they want to inspire people to get the brows they deserve.

The Universal brow pencil is made for every brow shade in mind hence the ‘universal’ in the name. It’s a twist up pencil which makes it so easy to use; no sharpening needed. On the other end of the pencil is a spoolie brush to blend the colour into your brows. I prefer a spoolie brush to a flat eyebrow brush and can work with it easier, it’s very handy that there’s one on the end; this also means less makeup tools are needed in a rushed morning routine.

As for the shade, the pencil is said to be perfect for everyone’s brows no matter what the colour. I have pretty dark brows but currently have light coloured hair so I’ve changed my eyebrow shade to a lighter one. This pencil is meant to be used lightly for fair shades and heavier for darker shades, the pencil is soft so I did struggle a little to put the product on lightly but luckily I needed a bit more colour anyway. After applying the pencil in small strokes across my brows I use the spoolie to blend my brows so they look natural.

I do feel that this pencil has a professional feel to it and believe it would be a great product for Makeup Artist's to have in their kit due to the fact that it can be used on any skin tone and brow shade. The softness of the pencil makes it really easy to work with, blend out and build up colour to get the perfect brows!
