Glamour Beauty Festival Manchester 2019

November 12, 2019

The weekend of the 1st of November Glamour Magazine along with the support of Boots took over Manchester Central to put on a beauty filled event. I attended on the Sunday morning session with my Sister and we had the best time.

I’d seen Glamour had done Beauty Festival events in London before (usually in March) but I’ve never been able to attend so I was chuffed when they announced they were bringing the festival to Manchester.

Me, spending a lot of my time on social media had read lots of reviews and comments from people who had attended on the Saturday and to be honest, the event had mixed reviews. That didn’t stop me and my sister from going and enjoying our day.

We arrived at around 10am, the event opened at 9am so we wasn’t too long after opening. The place wasn’t too busy at this point however there were a few queues for some of the stands as expected. We checked in and decided to grab our goodie bags on the way out and I’m glad we did as they were super heavy!

Inside the venue the stands where built up and filled the space leaving enough room to get around the stands and take a minute if needed. We had a walk around the place first getting a feel for what brands had stands and what treatments we wanted to get whilst we were there (treatments were included in the ticket price).

Boots were giving out goodie bags which had water and snacks inside which I thought was great, these kept us hydrated and we could snack whilst queueing.

No7 had a fun stand with a photo booth and grabber machine, neither me or my sis won on the machine but the team gave us a goodie each anyway; I came away with a lipstick and my sis a mascara.

Next up we headed over to the Sarah Jessica Parker stand as they were applying perfume scented temporary tattoos. I totally had to get one, the scent lasted all day and my tattoo looked pretty awesome too. There were 4 designs, each with a different perfume scent from SJP. The stand also had a flower wall so you know we took some snaps there.

Wandering around the middle part of the event, there were a mix of brands that are sold in Boots stores including; Too Faced, Fenty Beauty, Smashbox, Sleek Make Up and Micheal Kors to name a few. As we walked past the Sleek stand we were handed a treat, a lip liner and at the Micheal Kors stand a perfume sample. MK were also putting your photo on a fridge magnet which was a fun idea; me and sis took part of course.

By this time we had decided which treatments we wanted to get so we headed to the Remington stand to get our hair curled. The lady that did my hair was super lovely and made my hair not only glossy from the products but waved and curled. This styling lasted til the next day too which was fab so big up to the Remington tools!

Next we wanted to get a facial from Pixi, well I wanted one but my sis went along as well. There was a short queue but we were able to take part in the insta-photo wall whilst waiting and received some Pixi wipes for doing so. My facial was amazing, the Pixi staff were all so nice and gave me lots of tips and tricks to do with my skincare. They applied a step by step skin regime telling me what each product was good for and how to use it. I felt so refreshed after the treatment. Pixi also had 15% off their products and a free gift when purchasing two items, of course I took advantage of this offer and picked up the Vitamin C Cleanser and Facial Spray.

Feeling refreshed we headed to the Smashbox stand to have a primer consultation, I was recommended to use two printers as I have an oily t-zone. After this it was over to the Elf Cosmetics stand to check out the makeup. They were also running a insta-photo challenge and I received a goodie bag for taking part.

Already filled up with goodies and we haven’t even grabbed our show goodie bag which was filled with £300 worth of items! Very exciting!

On our way out we picked up our goodie bag, I’m not sure how my arm didn’t fall off it was so heavy; we couldn’t wait to see what was inside. Amongst the products was a copy of Glamour magazine which was perfect to read on the train home.

Top tips for the day...

  1. Have a wander around and choose what you’d like to do, plan your time.
  2. If you’ve got time left after your choices, do another treatment as an extra.
  3. Talk to the staff, they are there to give you advise and tips so make the most of it.
  4. Stay hydrated and take a rest if needed.
  5. Enjoy the day!

I really hope that Glamour bring the Beauty Festival back to Manchester next year!
