I resubscribed to Glossybox (April 2018)

May 01, 2018

Glossybox was one of the first beauty boxes I tried years ago and I was a keen subscriber for well over 18 months. I found that around 6 months ago the products I was receiving in my Glossyboxes wasn’t tailored enough to me and wasn’t interesting me much so I cancelled my long standing subscription.

April’s box was all over my social media pages and looked amazing, Glossy has done a 'Nostagia' theme with 5 full size products! I decided to re-sub as I didn’t want to miss out on this fabulous box; I was able to use Which Beauty Box UK’s discount code that she shared on her Twitter page and got £2.00 off my first box.

Just as with my previous subscription, Glossybox arrived quickly, delivered by Royal Mail and traceable all the way. I was pleased to see that pretty pink box again when I opened the postal box. Inside was the 5 full size products; 3 makeup items, a beauty tool and a body wash. I couldn’t wait to get stuck in trying all the products out.

Glossybox Exclusive - Angled Brush - RRP £5.50
I'll always be a fan of receiving beauty tools in any beauty box and this Glossybox exclusive is the perfect item to be in that luscious pink box. With a matching pink handle with Glossybox printed on the side and an angled brush on the end. An angled brush is so versatile and has so many uses including; filling in brows, applying concealer to detailed areas and applying lip liner and lipstick. This brush fits perfectly in my makeup brush collection and I can't wait to see more of them in my future boxes with Glossybox, hopefully.

Eyeko London - FAT Liquid Eyeliner - RRP £16.00
Eyeko liners are on my favourites list already and this FAT liquid liner was one of the first liners I tried from them; I also received that in a beauty box. The FAT liner is super easy to apply being a liquid liner means its workable and flexible so you can follow your eye line easily. If you want a larger wing then this is the liner for you, one or two strokes along my eye and I have a chunky black line that lasts all day. However if its a thinner liner shape your wanting then just use the tip of the FAT liner and apply gently. I'm always super impressed with the longevity of Eyeko liners and would recommend them to anyone.

Glossy box Early Exclusive - ModelCo X Karl Lagerfeld - Baked Blush in shade Light Shade - Launch date to be announced.
This was the product I was really excited about in this box, I've become more of a fan of ModelCo lately and the fact that this is an early exclusive in collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld makes it even better. The baked blush is a beautiful shade that works well on my pale skin tone but I think it would work well on tanned skin also, the blush is really blendable and can be built up in colour for a more intense look. The packaging has the KL logo on the lid and the compact is sturdy and secure so popping it in your handbag shouldn't be a problem.

Affect Cosmetics - Matt Effect Transparent Loose Rice Powder - RRP £9.35
This was a new brand for me, I've never heard of Affect Cosmetics before so I'm quite glad I've been able to sample a product from them. This rice powder is great to set makeup and create a finishing layer over your makeup; its easy to apply with just a large powder brush and leaves a smooth looking finish. I often use finishing powders but I've never used a rice powder, I'll be honest I didn't find much of a difference to my regular powder but still enjoyed using this product.

I've already tried this Imperial Leather Unicorn FoamBurst and I absolutely love it! The scent is so sweet and candy-like which makes for a fun shower and the foam element was new to me. I've found the foam texture to make the product last longer because a small amount lathers up loads and there is enough to wash my whole body. The added unicorn design of course gives this product the appeal and is the main reason I bought it in the first place and now I've got an extra bottle to keep me going for a while.

The selection of products this month was spot on for me as I prefer to receive makeup items and beauty tools in any of my beauty boxes. The Nostalgia theme was present with products that can be used time and time again and products that never really fade out of the beauty world. I personally will always wear black eyeliner along with other products like blush and setting powders.

On the product card inside the box there was a sneak peek for May’s box which is a Vegan and cruelty free shampoo and conditioner duo from Maria Nila, they are a Swedish brand and I'm excited to try the duo out when I receive my May box.

If you want to sub to Glossybox you can use my referral link here and start receiving a beautiful pink box full of goodies each month. I am really pleased I have become a Glossy subscriber again and am looking forward to the next boxes. I'll get a review up early during May so you'll be able to see what's in the next box soon.
