Home decoration with the Old English Company*

"I like this place and willingly could waste my time in it" - William Shakespeare

Having a little place in my home to relax and chill out is fabulous for me and creating that space was just as rewarding as spending time in it. Recently the Old English Company got in touch and I was able to select a few bits from their website to show you guys. Thanks to the team at Old English Company for the quick delivery and beautiful products.

We have recently decorated our front room and I've created a space in one corner with a reading chair, lamp and added some of my vintage camera collection to a shelving unit I up-cycled. When choosing some items from the Old English Company website I took into consideration the little space I was creating.

The Old English Company are a giftware, stationary and print brand that create hand-lettered products, unique gifts and quirky items to suit everyone's style. Their studios are in Stamford although they were first established in London. The company follows no calligraphy rules and produces their products with messages that their customers can relate too. Selling everything from prints to pin badges to pillow cases to mugs and stationary, I'm sure you will find something just for you on the brands website.

To add to my reading corner I chose a print that would work well in not just the corner of the room but within the whole room and I couldn't of found a better print. The 'This Place Shakespeare Literary Print*' really called to me when I spotted it and I thought it would work perfectly in my corner. Especially being a reading corner and that fact that I could and will be wasting some of my time in that area of my living room. As we have painted the walls a dark grey colour, I opted for a chunky white frame to make the print stand out, I also thought the white frame would match my Ikea lamp that's in the same corner. I've found looking at the print to be quite inspiring to get cracking with other rooms in my house, why can't my whole house be somewhere I want to waste my time in.

To accompany my print I chose a coaster to also go in my reading corner, I can pop a hot chocolate on a chilly night on it or maybe a gin during the summer months. Of course when I saw the 'Believe in Unicorns coaster*' I couldn't not pick this design as it's totally me and my style. I also have a white small table next to my reading chair and thought the black coaster would really stand out on the table and it definitely does although I never want to the cover the slogan up with a cup or glass.

I can get planning my next rooms to decorate with the next item I chose which was the 'You've Got This A5 Notebook*' which I've been keeping on the table next to the coaster. Whenever an idea pops in my head, I write it down weather it be a blogging idea, new book to read or a DIY project for my house. Having a notebook handy is great as you never know when ideas can strike and if your anything like me these ideas disappear out of my mind quicker than they appear sometimes.

Lastly so I can take a bit of the Old English Company with me wherever I go, I chose a pin badge for my jackets lapel which is getting pretty full now. The 'Squad Goals Enamel Pin*' is pink and says it all really, I'm always saying the word Squad when me and my friends are together or I have a blogger meet up; I love the caption itself so the pin is perfect for me. For when my jacket is full, the Old English Company has a 'Pin Display Flag*' to showcase all my pins on and hang in my favourite place, this will be added to my blogging area as soon as I fill it with pins.

Having some statement and unique pieces around my home is lovely and I can't wait to get my hands on some more bits from the brand, I've already got my eye on another print for my blogging area once it's complete. What have you got your eye on from the Old English Company?
