Urban Decay Haul from the Student Lock In at Intu Trafford Centre

May 02, 2016

Last Tuesday it was the Student Lock-In at Intu Trafford Centre, last years event was very exciting and this year was no different. There was a fabulous atmosphere in the centre with DJs throughout and different competitions going on as well all the amazing discounts in most of the stores. Upon arrival I was given a stamp on my hand and a booklet telling me where and what the discounts was, on the night; this made navigating around much easier.

Selfridges had discounts, goodie bags and deals on in store but only on certain counters and sections, one in particular was Urban Decay, when you brought 3 items you got a free goodie bag filled with samples and mini products.

Of course I spent ages looking at every product on the counter, I already knew I wanted a mini travel sized potion primer to take to the festivals I'm attending this year so that was one product. I just had to pick 2 other products to get the goodie bag (this didn't take long to be honest, haha)

Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Travel size - £8.00 (full size £16.00)
I first tried the Potion Primer in a eyeshadow palette I brought on a plane home from holidaying back in 2009, from then on its been a permanent eyeshadow primer in my makeup bag; I could say I swear by it. First of all even this smaller tube (5ml) will last a long time as you only need to apply a little to your eyelids before applying your shadow for it to go to work. I tend to apply the primer with my finger and blend it all over my eyelids leaving no area un-primed. I've used this primer with all my eyeshadow's not just my UD shadows and I can honestly tell you my eyeshadow doesn't move all day!! There's definitely a potion inside this primer!

Afterglow 8-hour Powder Highlighter in shade Aura - £19.00
How many highlighters does one girl need?? I think the question is unanswered, well it is from me. Contour and Highlighting has become a daily makeup step for me, the trend literally came out of no where then everyone needed to highlight, I love the trend though and can see it working its way though into many years to come. This Aura shade is a pinky highlighter which is something I don't own, most of my highlighters are bronze or cream shades. I thought with my pale complexion and the advise of one of the UD assistants on the counter that the pink shade would for work perfectly and we was not wrong. I love love love the shade and effect it has on the tops of my cheeks. I can also build up the shade for when I'm dressed up and wearing more makeup than my everyday face. I think you can see the highlight more because it is pink so it has more of an effect for me personally. The packaging of this product is amazing, the sliver mirrored palette with the UD branding on the top which has a summery look to it is just perfect. My favourite highlighter of all time now!

24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in shade Jilted - £13.50
A few weeks back I had a Debenhams voucher to spend and choose to buy the UD Matte Revolution lipstick in shade 'After Dark' so I had been wanting a lip liner to go with it as it was a darker shade which has a slight sparkle to it. I tend to buy liners specially for my darker lipstick shades. It didn't take me long to find the correct colour, I swatched the same shade of lipstick on my hand and swatched the liners next to it and boom I had my shade. Probably one of the easiest liner shades I've found. The shade is called 'Jilted' and is a plum/fuchsia shade that has a slight sparkle in it just like my After Dark lipstick, so its perfectly matched. The liner is creamy when applied and blends onto the lips easily with a stiff brush if needed, I can't fault it at all. Together with my lipstick its a match made in heaven, an amazing lip duo.

Goodie bag items
Inside my goodie bag was some awesome mini products including UD's best selling mascara; Perversion, the 'All Nighter' makeup setting spray and some lipstick samples. The UD Assistant showed me what was inside the bag when I was purchasing my products and told me what the products were which I thought was really nice of her.
I am very excited about the mini bottle of setting spray in the goodie bag, I've read so many good reviews from bloggers and I can't wait to try it out and make my own opinions on it.

I spent some time chatting with the UD staff on the counter about the Through the looking glass palette and lipsticks that are launching this week. The excitement is high with everyone, trust me! I literally can't wait, my local Debenhams are doing a 'Mad Hatter's Tea Party' event on launch day the 5th May, I'm booked in to attend and have my eyes and lips done with the new collection, I'm super looking forward to it and to seeing the collection in all its glory!
You can see more about the Through the Looking Glass collection on Urban Decay's Twitter and Instagram, and searching the #UDinWonderland hashtag too.
