A Never Boring London Edge - September 2018

September 08, 2018

London Edge as I always say is one of my favourite events of the year and this year I was able to stay in London for the whole weekend. Edge is an fashion show with lots of alternative, bold, vintage and different brands showcasing; it is a trade show but us bloggers attend and have so much fun as well. There are catwalks running thought-out the day, so many stands to check out with brands showcasing next seasons stock for buyers to see and then there's the famous after party which I got to attend this year!

I was able to meet up with some of the blogger babes whilst I was there as well and I spent most of my weekend with Kim from The Colour Chronicles and Rach from Rachel War; I had such a fab weekend with these gals. I also met up with; Darcie from Bound in Bone, Kinga from Rock this Runway, Charley from Being Charley and I finally met Danee from Danee Faith.

Edge always runs Sunday to Monday and has been at the Business Design Centre for a few years now, this was my 4th time attending and was chuffed I was invited to the influencer meet up in the press area and given a VIP blogger pass too. I also had Dean with me this year and he was on Photographer duty for the weekend, between us both we got some awesome shots. I headed to the show on Sunday for the influencer meet up which was great as I got to speak to other bloggers, meet people who I follow on Instagram and just have a general chit chat with everyone, plus it was great to meet Emma from the London Edge team too. I was also given a press bag filled with goodies from some of the brands from Edge so thank you to everyone for this too.

Upstairs with the press area was the Makers area where smaller brands showcase their work, these guys are always really chatty and you can see how much work goes into their creations as well. I met a few brands from last year like Frilly Industries and some new brands like Wilde mode.

We managed to catch the catwalk at 1.30pm which was as fun as ever, I love the catwalks at Edge as they aren't your usual catwalks. The models actually look like they enjoy what they do, the clothing is always alternative and its a great way to see more of the brands items that are at the show actually being worn. I think the models could be a little more alternative looking though so this is something that may make the catwalk even better. I'd also like to see a plus size part of the show, maybe all the vintage inspired brands could be showcased in this section as a lot of them have a plus size range.

Walking around the show we stopped by a few of our favourites like Strange Cvlt, Punky Pins, Jawbreaker Clothing, Fearless IllustrationTUK shoes, New Rock and Dr Faust Clothing as well as meeting lots of other brands and chatting to them. Demonia Shoes was there this year as well, I was so happy to see all the shoes; it was like shoe heaven!

I was chuffed to be wearing Jawbreaker for the show as well, thank you to the Jawbreaker team for providing me with something to wear and keep your eyes pealed for a shoot post featuring Jawbreaker too. I spotted so many amazing pieces on the Jawbreaker/Voodoo Vixen stand and my wish list just got a hell of a lot longer.

StrangeCvlt have been at London Edge before and I literally fell in love with them as soon as I saw them. They are such an alternative, edgy and stand out brand and the designer Ryan is such a nice guy. They've got some killer styles coming soon as well, there's even a Halloween style that is legit amazing!!! There will also be a blog post featuring a pair of Strange Cvlt's coming soon too, thanks again StrangeCvlt!!! These guys also won an award at the after party for Footwear brand of the year which is so well deserved!

As a big fan of Punky Pins already I loved seeing them at Edge again this year, they also had some of their new pins at the show and these are awesome guys, trust me! I spent ages looking at all the pins and patches whist speaking to the team as well. I've got some pins to show you on my socials too so make sure your following me.

Me, Dean and my blogger pals spoke to so many brands, hung out all day at the show and of course had a great time, Edge really is one of my favourite events of the year. For us bloggers its a great way to meet brands, other bloggers, see whats new for the season and get lots of inspiration.

Edge isn't just a trade show either, they have an awesome after party which is held just down the road at Electrowerks which is such a cool event venue and building. This years theme was a little Alice in Wonderland style which of course I loved so much. Me and the blogger squad partied and danced our butts off whilst Dis-Grace put on performances throughout the evening. I was so happy I got to stay for the afterparty as I've had to run off for the train on previous years but not this time.

I always come away from London Edge with all the inspiration to be a better blogger, have lots of ideas for styling, photoshoots and a wish list full of shopping. I've already started planning my trip down in February and as soon as I know the dates I'll be booking it off work again.

Thank you to London Edge and all the brands for an amazing show, I'll see you all in Feb!
