Ohh Deer Birchbox is amazing this month!

January 18, 2018

January is here and so is the first Birchbox of the year! First of all how amazing is the box design this month? Birchbox have colaborated with lifestyle brand Ohh Deer, the box design is colourful, on trend and has flamingos on it; what’s not to love?

I decided to upgrade my box this month and add the 60 page weekly planner to my box, this arrived with my subscription and is just as fabulous as the box itself. With the same design on the planner as the box, they will both go very nicely on my dressing table. I really like planners like these for organising my week of blog work, shifts at work or to use as a food diary.

Inside Birchbox this month are 5 items and some Ohh Dear stickers which will work so well with my planner. There are 2 makeup products, a makeup tool, a hair care product and a skin care item so there’s a good mix of items with month and I’m pleased with the selection.

I'm already a fan of these styles of makeup remover cloths, they are so simple to use and they are effective too. This Afterspa cloth needs nothing more than warm water to remove all your makeup, just wet the cloth then massage it over your face to remove even waterproof mascara! No products just water really helps my skin personally, as using too many products can clog up my pores so every so often I will use a makeup remover for a while to really clear up my skin. The cloth can be used up to 1000 times, to clean the cloth just throw it into the washing machine; it can't get any easier!

Lord & Berry are regularly featured in Birchbox and I really like the brand, each product I've tried has impressed me in someway or another. This month Birchbox included a blusher crayon in shade Camelia which is a pinky shade that works really well with my pale skin tone. The pencil blends really nicely so application is quick and easy. I've been applying the pencil to my cheek bones then using my finger to blend the product out, leaving me with a subtle pinky glow which lasts all day.

Marcelle is another brand that has featured in Birchbox previously and that was also an eyeliner, this month I've received a waterproof liner in shade Charcoal. The shade is an alternative option for a black liner which is my usual go to shade so when I've been wearing this Marcelle shade its not been to far away from the norm for me. I like the liner for its longevity and if I'm quick enough after applying I can blend the liner out for a smokey eye look.

I've used a couple of PARLOR products in the past and have had some good results with them, this sea salt spray adds lots of beachy textures to my hair and nourishes at the same time. The spray has sweet almond extract so it smells beautiful on my hair, I usually spray this on damp hair then blow dry whilst struching it; I'm then left with beach worthy hair with little effort. PARLOUR has also added algae extract and vitamins which help to nourish the hair and scalp which is an added extra when it comes to sea salt sprays.

Thermaliv Night Cream - RRP £15.75 for full size
When it comes to my nightly skin care routine I take more time and effort to look after my skin so a night cream is a priority. Thermaliv is a brand I've never heard of before but so far I'm impressed with the results, this night cream has a calming sweet scent which is perfect for bedtime and it helps boost collagen production whilst you sleep. The cream itself goes a very long way, I only need a small pea sized amount to cover my whole face and neck which makes this cream amazing value for money. I'd love to try more skincare from this brand in the future.

I’d say Birchbox has made a great start to the year and I’m super excited for February’s box already. Each box next month will have a Keeome Silicone Buff applicator inside so don’t miss out and sign up today, you can even use my referral link here and grab £5.00 off your first box!

Here’s to another 12 months of Birchbox!
