Birchbox X Rifle Paper Co - April

April 19, 2016

This months Birchbox was in collaboration with Rifle Paper Co, which was a perfect colab for bringing us into summer, with the floral themed box designs and products to get subscribers ready for the summer months. Birchbox have included 2 makeup products and 3 skin/hair care products in my box all of which will see me straight into summer.

Rifle Paper Co is a US cult stationary and lifestyle brand, selling everything from note books to temporary tattoos all of which sport lovely floral designs. The company designed two boxes for this months Birchbox and subscribers got to choose which design they wanted to receive, I love it when we get a choice of something either in the box or the box design.
I choose the box with the yellow bottom, I preferred this design for the more detailed floral print lid.

So what was in my box...

Benefits Dew The Hoola - Sample Size (full size £22.50)
We all know that Benefit is a favourite brand of mine and I love receiving mini products in my beauty boxes. Since October 2015 I've been subscribed to Birchbox and received 4 Benefit minis all together within that time. Dew the Hoola is a new product from Benefit that launched a few weeks ago, its a soft-matte liquid bronzer for your face. Only a small amount is needed to apply the product to all of my face, the liquid leaves a subtle tan shade after blending in and can be built up with more product if desired. I particularly like that, a light shade is achieved because I have a very fair skin tone and this product is great to add a little bit of tan to my face for summer. Dew the Hoola's packaging is very creative just as I would expect from Benefit, there is an Hawaiian theme to it with bamboo and tropical leaves featured. I am considering buying a full size product after I have used up my mini.

Cynthia Rowley Beauty Eyeliner in Black - Sample Size (full size £11.00)
Fashion to beauty is what Cynthia Rowley has done with this Birchbox Exclusive makeup line and included in this months box was a black eyeliner. First of all the packaging of the liner looks very designer with the gold polka dots on the lid and gold text on the pencil. The liner itself is very black in colour which is what you want from a black liner, the pencil is soft and creamy in texture so its so easy to apply. The product can be smudged out for a smokey eye look as long as you smudge within 30 seconds as the liner seems to dry and is smudge proof after this time. I wore this for the first time yesterday and it lasted all day which is another reason this liner is a top product. This will become one of my go to liners in my makeup bag.

Kueshi Foot Care Cream - Travel Size (full size £12.00)
Summers on the way and that means sandal season so we all want nice soft feet to show off in our gorgeous new summer shoes. Foot cream is something I use all year round with having very dry skin but in summer I apply it more frequently. This Kueshi Foot Care Cream has tea tree oil, royal jelly and sweet almond oil in it which all help give you the softest feet. Almond oil and Royal Jelly help smooth your feet and the tea tree helps stop itchiness and burning, I personally suffer from really itchy feet especially at night so this tea tree infused cream is great to help that itch. My only complaint with this product is that the scent is very strong, I think this is because of the tea tree ingredient but it may put some people off using the cream. This travel size product is also really good for taking away with you for those weekends away, festivals and summer holidays.

Balance Me Tinted Wonder Eye Cream - Sample Size (full size £20.00)
In the past I have used tinted moisturisers but never just a tinted eye cream however I like the idea of it. I use a concealer under my eyes every day and that can be heavy on my eye area whereas this Balance Me Wonder eye cream is very light in texture and easily blend-able. This cream almost blends in translucently because it is designed for universal skin tones, the cream leaves the eye area looking fresh and evened out which is what you want. This sample size will last for ages so at just £20.00 for a full size product I'd say that was a bargain.

PARLOR by Jeff Chastain Detangling Leave-In Conditioner - Travel Size (full size £17.00)
I have received a couple of PARLOR branded products in previous beauty boxes and I found the quality to be high and I used the samples up completely. This detangling leave-in conditioner is really easy to use, you just spray onto your washed damp hair then dry and style as normal. The conditioner helps smooth the hair so tangles are a thing of the past and the product helps to protect hair against heat and adds shine, it's an all round great product. The scent is sweet and fruity and reminds me of summer so I will be using this product all through the summer months and taking it away with me to the festivals I am attending.

There was no Bonus item in this month's box and this is the first time I've never received one however the May sneak peak from the back of the content card completely made up for it, subscribers will again have a choice next month but this time it isn't the box design we are choosing but a product design. I'm so excited! Also as a little bonus Rifle Paper Co included a 25% discount code for every subscriber, I'll be taking a good look on the website on payday.

Overall I think Birchbox added a good selection of products in this months and all items can be used during the summer months, I always enjoy receiving Benefit products and this month didn't disappoint. I can use every product in this months box too which is great and the box design is lovely, I'll be putting this box on display in my bedroom and using it as makeup storage.

If you fancy signing up to Birchbox you can do so here. Using this link will give you £5.00 worth of Birchbox points to spend on the website too.
