Glossybox included a 6th mystery product this month - October 2016

October 25, 2016

It's been a year since I signed up to Glossybox and it's been a great year for beauty discoveries and receiving a beautiful, sometimes themed box each month that's always filled with lots of treats. I'm so happy I chose Glossybox as one of my permanent subscription boxes and I look forward to another year with Glossybox.

This month Glossybox collaborated with blogger/vlogger Estée Lalonde, she edited this box with products you can experiment with to help you feel your best; she also did something new and added a 6th extra product but the brand was a mystery. I found this to be very exciting and would definitely welcome another mystery product in my future boxes. There was 5 other makeup and skin care items in the box, 4 of which are full size products; as well as a lovely pink notebook to say thank you for being a subscriber for one year; this was such a surprise and added a personal touch to my box this month. Thank you Glossy!

Trifle Cosmetics Lip Parfait - Buttery Lip Cream - Exotic Fruits - full size - RRP £12.95
I was so excited to see a Trifle Cosmetics product in my box this month, I recently spotted this brand in the US Glossybox so was hoping it would find its way into our UK boxes. Trifle Cosmetics is a 100% cruelty free brand and this product is Vegan with no parabens, phthalates, mineral oil and its hypoallergenic. The brands packaging is just gorgeous, it's so fun and colourful and grabs your eye instantly. This exotic fruits lip cream has fruits drawn all over the bright blue packaging; it really is one of the cutest brands I've seen. The lip cream is what it says it is, a cream; it glides onto my lips so smoothly and easily leaving a medium coverage on my lips. The shade is a little too light for my skin tone so that is my only down fall with this product but I'm so happy I got to try the Trifle pcosmetics brand finally and I look forward to trying some of there other makeup in the future.

BEE Good Honey & Camelina Facial Exfoliator - full size - RRP £10.50
I am becoming such a huge fan of BEE Good after sampling a few of there products in my beauty boxes. I find every product I've tried to have great results so I'm always excited to see different product in my sub boxes. This honey & camelina facial exfoliator smells amazing giving it a great first impression, the cream is soft on my skin and exfoliated nicely with no harsh micro beads anywhere to be seen. Natural milled lavender flowers lift dead skin cells without irritating my skin and the wheatgerm oil ingredient leaves my skin feeling moisturised. The scent is really relaxing so I've been using this exfoliator before bed time, a couple times a week.

PS...PRO Graphic Eyeliner - full size - RRP £3.00 (available in selected Primark stores)
The sneak peak for this brand was that there would be a PS...PRO product in our boxes this month but didn't specify which product subscribers would receive. I got the graphic eyeliner which was a good pick for me as I use liquid eyeliner everyday however this item was such a let down for me and the only advantage it has is the price tag being only £3.00. The tip of the liner is quite thick meaning you can't get thin line easily, the liquid liner is very runny in formula as well, so smudges are prone and finally the longevity sucks, the liner had lost most of its colour within an hour or so after applying. I hate giving a bad review of a product but I just really didn't like this one and this has sort of put me off trying any of other the PS...PRO product, sorry Primark.

The Body Shop Drops of Youth concentrate - sample size - RRP £25.00 for full size
The Body Shop is a regular stop for me whenever I go shopping, I love the brand for what it stands for and the quality of the products too. Receiving a sample of this Drops of Youth concentrate was welcomed this month as I've been dying to try this range out for a while now. This range has been formulated for the first signs of ageing, I'm starting to see the importance of looking after my skin and of course I don't want any pre-mature ageing. This concentrate leaves my skin with a smooth finish and moisturises instantly leaving a natural, healthy and fresh look. I found the product soaked into my skin so quickly and rubbed in easily so only a small amount of product was needed to cover my whole face. This is now a staple in my skin care routine!

Universal Beauty Cosmetics Secret Flush, Soothing Cream Blusher & Lip Stain Duo
- full size - RRP £15.00
UBCosmetics are a new brand discovery for me and the only brand I'd not heard of in this months Glossybox. The secret flush is a 2 in 1 product that can be used as a blush or lip stain and has the sweetest scent ever; its the first thing I picked up on with the product. I liked that the blush/lip stain came in a branded box which has lots of information on it and kept the product safe inside. The actual product comes in a shiny black case with polka dots on the lid, the makeup is protected by another cap inside the lid too. I found the shade to be a perfect match for my skin tone with being a pinky like shade, the cream blended onto my cheekbones beautifully. As for a lip stain the shade wasn't bright enough for my liking but just left a very sheer pink tone on my lips, I'll be sticking with using this secret flush as a blusher.

Mystery Shampoo -
After smelling the product in the bottle I had a pretty good idea which brand this mystery shampoo was from but since the brand wasn't revealed until last week I kept an open mind. I'll be honest I only used this product once as I've currently got a good hair care routine going to recover my damaged hair. I found this shampoo to lather up really well and of course had a familiar scent but I didn't like the results I got, my hair didn't feel in any better condition than it was before I washed it; this put me off using the shampoo again unfortunately. Last week vlogger Estée Lalonde revealed that the brand was Head & Shoulders,  which was exactly the brand I had guessed after just smelling the product.

The contents of the October box is worth over £42.00 and with 4 full size items this month I think this is an awesome box of beauty treats. I keep saying it but Glossy are up-ing their game so much lately and I look more and more forward to my boxes arriving each month. If you would like to try Glossybox you can sign up using my referral link here and start getting our own beauty box each month.

  1. Such a gorgeously good Glossybox babe! So nice to see a popular brand doing a fab collab with a blogger/vlogger and Estèe's box is all the dreamy. I love the addition of the perfect pink notebook (congrats on 1 year sweets!) and it's nice there was a mystery sixth brand item included. The BEE Good Honey & Camelina Facial Exfoliator looks and sounds so blissful and divine! <3

I definitely agree that Glossybox seem to be upping their game; I subscribed to them a good few years back and stopped the service as I found it quite disappointing, but your beaut reviews are definitely making me want to 100% reconsider ;)
