New year, New Skin care from Gatineau* at TJ Hughes
January 30, 2018I don't know about you but I’m still in the mindset that it’s a new year so let’s smash my goals, start something new and change up my old habits. I’ve started to mix up my skin care routine to try some different brands, I was contacted by a PR for TJ Hughes who have a fantastic beauty section in store and online; TJ have a wide selection of skincare with lots of top brands like Gatineau, Elizabeth Arden and Lancomé, you can see the full range here.
I was able to choose a new skin care product to try out, I picked the *DefiLift 3D™ Perfect Design from Gatineau Paris; this cream is aimed 40+ years but I believe that using anti-ageing products from a younger age will help my skin in the future.
Gatineau is a brand I have tried in the past but only in a makeup remover so I was interested to see how the cream lived up against that. Gatineau is a French brand that was born in Paris in 1932 when Madame Jeanne Gatineau opened her first salon and started to work on her own line of skin care. Through her passion for skin care Gatineau was born and it’s still around today but the brand still sticks to its heritage roots. From first application the day the cream arrived I could see a difference in the texture of the cream to my regular night cream. This was a lot thicker than my usual brand but did spread out easily so I’d say I was still only using a small amount to cover my face and neck. A few days after using the cream I could feel a difference in the firmness of my cheeks which was new to me as my regular skin care didn’t have this effect and my skin felt tighter but in a good way.
DefiLift 3D™ is said to help firm the skin and uses Plant Protein Technology to provide a tightening effect from the first use as well as restoring volume in the skin with Encapsulated Hyaluronic Acid. Inside the cream is also Shea Butter and Mango which help to soothe and nourish the skin. I believe the firmness element is true in the cream as my skin felt tighter after just using for a few days. With just this effect alone I now prefer this cream over my regular skin care and will be continuing to use this well into the future.
It’s now been a couple of weeks and I have to say my skin feels fabulous and looks good too; people have commented on it! I can certainly feel the firmness in my skin and my whole face feels so soft to touch. I’ve found that my breakouts have been less as well so the cream really has worked well for me and my skin. DefiLift doesn't really have a scent to it, the mango ingredient isn't very strong at all and this is OK with me, something doesn't have to have a overpowering scent to be pleasant to use. I find the applying the cream before bed really relaxes me as I massage it into my face and neck then settle in for the night.
