What's in my Festival Makeup bag?

June 14, 2017

Festival season is well under way and I was at my first festival of the year last weekend; Download Festival. It's my favourite festival to attend; getting all my stuff ready for camping and making packing lists are all part of the fun for me too. I always struggle when it comes to what makeup to take, I don't want to take too much, take anything that would possibly get damaged but I still want enough options and everything I could need. You also need to remember a makeup remover that nourishes your skin since your going to be outdoors for the weekend; I took my Soap & Glory Peaches and Clean deep cleansing milk which I dispensed into a small travel bottle.

So what's in my Festival makeup bag ... (contains PR samples)

This is my go to foundation anyway but I choose to take this with me because it has an SPF in it to help protect my skin from harmful sun-rays. All Nighter also gives me a full coverage matte look and holds up well in wet weather and hot days. Also you can't take any glass into festivals and this UD bottle is made of plastic which also means its more durable than a glass bottle. You can read my full review of this foundation here

Joan Collins beauty always has glamorous packaging which could make you not want to take it to a festival but this compact duo I received from JC is perfect for festivals and holidays. Inside is a face powder, sponge, lipstick and a mirror. On days where it's too hot for your foundation or you want a different finish this powder is easy to apply and lightweight on the skin. The lipstick inside this duo is a brown shade so it's great for an everyday look however you can swap any of the JC lipsticks into the palette; I swapped the brown for a red shade. I found that I could use this powder to contour as well by just applying the powder under my cheek bones, the shade is also buildable so you can achieve any look you want.

I can't not do my brows everyday now, they've become something I don't leave the house without adding some makeup too. I've only recently bought this brow pencil from Nip & Fab but I'm already impressed! The pencil is easy to use, stays put all day and comes with a spoolie on one end. There are 4 shades available in the range but each shade can be applied sparingly or more heavily so you can achieve the shade your after. Only needing one brow item means more space in your Festival makeup bag.

I always take smaller makeup products to festivals if I have them since I have to carry everything. I got this Kat Von D liner from Love Me Beauty last year and it's a mini size. The felt tip style liner is easy to apply even in a tent, sat on the floor. I was able to apply winged liner each day of my festival and it lasted all day!

Another mini makeup product but this time from Too Faced. My current favourite mascara in a mini size that I got in a set at Christmas. The Better then Sex mascara lifts lashes and adds volume with the hourglass shaped wand. The mini sized still has the same size wand as the full size and fits into my Festival makeup bag and pocket perfectly.

Festivals and glitter seem to go hand in hand together especially this season. So adding some glitter to my eyes and face is easy with the UD Moondust palette, of course the shadows apply beautifully on my eyes but can be built up onto my face for a full on festival look too. With 8 shades to choose from I could wear a different shade each day! I have a full review of this palette here

After applying all your makeup you'll want to keep it in place all day and maybe all night long. Urban Decays All Nighter setting spray is always in my makeup bag so of course it's in my festival makeup bag. A couple of sprays in a cross-like motion over my face means my makeup doesn't move all day even through hot days and wet weather. The travel sized bottle I have here is smaller than the full size and thin enough to fit into a small makeup bag easily. You can read my full review of this spray here

When I'm at home I use my favourite brushes to apply my makeup and being away is no different. Spectrum have a small lilac brush set that has 4 brushes and a bag. I was able to fill the bag with all my makeup products and add a couple of the brushes as well. Brushes included are; foundation, powder, blush and brow. All of them are super soft just as I'd expect from Spectrum and apply my makeup effortlessly. The bag can be wiped clean too so if any mud gets on it your safe.
