Makeup Revolution - Pro Makeup Eraser Towel Review

January 30, 2017

You've probably seen these makeup eraser towels floating around in every beauty department for a few months now. These towels are said to remove your all makeup including waterproof products by just adding warm water to the towel. If your like me and are doubtful that these towels work and actually remove your makeup then read on...

Makeup Revolution have released their own Pro Makeup Eraser Towel. I was lucky enough to win a competition over on Instagram and receive one of them within the collection of prizes. At this point I still wasn't confident the towel would remove my makeup.

I decided to give the towel a ago; taking it out of the packet I was surprised at how soft the towel felt, I wasn't expecting the towel to be so soft to touch. It isn't towel like fabric, it's more of a silky/furry material; the packaging states that the towel is made from polyester. I popped the towel in the washing machine before using it for the first time, it dried quite quickly and was safe on top of the radiator.

Once my hot water tap was running with warm water I held the towel under it and drenched the towel before squeezing the excess water out. The packet said to move the towel in circular movements on my face. I started with my eyes which is usually were I start when removing my makeup. Within a few circular wipes my eye makeup was nearly off!!! After a couple more wipes, all my eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner and brow products was gone! At this point I was completely stocked and happy that the towel was a success. I continued to wipe my whole face with the eraser until all my makeup was removed; this didn't take long at all.

I only used a small section on the towel so I rinsed it out again and left it to dry on the radiator. I was able to use the eraser again the next day when I wore glitter eyeshadow which can be pain to remove but the towel also removed that! I have been using my facial wash and cleanser after using this towel but it definitely cut the time and products down during my nightly routine. However for a deep facial clean I wouldn't use this eraser and would use products to fully clean my face.

Of course after a couple of uses the towel needs to be washed again. Throwing it into the washing machine is an easy job but does mean your without it for a day/night so you'd always need an alternative makeup remover even if you used this all the time.

I personally think the towel would be great for short breaks away, it would mean less products to be packed. If you have access to warm water when camping it would be handy to take this with you to again save on packing space. The packaging states that the towel has 1000 washes so I assume it can be washed this many times before it may become unusable but I'm a long way away from that.

Overall I'm happy with the MUR makeup eraser, it actually works and is easy to use. If you want to use less products on your face or have sensitive skin then this towel would be good for you.

There are lots of these Makeup Eraser Towels on the market at the moment some of which are quite pricey, this one is priced at £10.00 and is available on the Tam Beauty website, online at Superdrug and in stores.

Let me know if you've tried this eraser or a similar product, how did you find it?

  2. I absolutely love the sound of make-up eraser towels, especially ones that remove all MU, even waterproof products. I'm a real novice when it comes to taking my eye make-up off at night so these sound like a fabulous alternative to wipes. Massive congrats on winning the competition gorgeous girlie, I really can't think of a more worthy winner than your dreamy, majestical when it comes to all things magic-make-up-self :)

This is going to sound really pathetic (wait for it) but one of my favourite things is soaking my face with a flannel/towel at the end of a long day, so this make-up eraser looks right up my street ;) It sounds like it works an absolute treat and I'm loving that it worked so well in doing the trick. Eye make-up is by far the most stubborn to remove so the fact that this little miracle worker succeeded sounds fab! I agree it sounds like a must for a little get-away, packing so many lotions and potions can be such a nuisance, so this towel sounds like a dream. As always such a gorgeous, gorgeous review girlie! I haven't tried it before but am deffo tempted to give it a whirl now <3
