Get naked all over with Urban Decays Illuminated Trio

November 23, 2016

Urban Decay are at it again, giving us products to help us look better naked. Here I have the Naked Illuminated Trio which UD have kindly sent me; this limited edition set contains three shimmering powders that can be used on your face and body. The set includes a double ended brush to help to apply the powders to wherever you choose.

Naked Illuminated products aren't new to UD but the three shades included in this set are brand NEW shades; Pyrite (gold-champagne), Oasis (marbled frosted taupe) and Twilight (iridescent pink), all of which will give you an sexy flush look. The baked powders all have a microfine Naked shimmer in them and a little goes a long away, it's so quick to apply the powders leaving an amazing luminous look. Each shade contains light-reflecting particles to help achieve that highlighted look in an instant, the palette is perfect for carrying around as it's not too big and is really lightweight so you can apply whenever you feel the need to add some sparkle.

I've personally used this product to highlight my cheekbones but it can used on your collarbone and beyond, you can also dust the powder on your legs and by applying over lotion or oil it will create a long lasting effect; this will be great for the festive parties. The brush that is included is the perfect size for the powders and I only need a little dust over the product to have enough on my brush for both cheeks. My favourite shade is Twilight as this works best for my pale skin tone, the pink tones in the powder really stand out and the iridescent microfine shimmer element sparkles all day long. Spraying UD's All Nighter setting spray onto the brush before applying gives a intense highlight which has super staying power. I use this technique with a lot of my makeup products including, highlighter, contour, eyeshadow and brow powders.

I actually can't believe how lightweight the set is so it really is travel friendly; I could easily pop this in my handbag but with the size of it not a evening clutch bag. The packaging is a sleek as ever with the Naked theme all over the set; the design is like shimmering lights and feels very festive. Under the magnetic lid is a decent sized mirror set into a frame design. The powders are laid out in a trio of round pans all baked to perfection and the brush has a ribbon to help pop the brush out which I thought was a handy extra.

Not only will I be continuing to use this illuminated trio throughout the festive months but I will use this year out with the iridescent sparkle and longevity, it's now a go to product of mine.

  1. The packaging and powders look so pretty, especially the striped one! (I'm not a make-up wearer, so just enjoying the aesthetic!) I also didn't realise that Urban Decay is cruelty free - nice to see another company seeing sense :)

It is great that Urban are cruelty free, I agree; all brands need to get on board with not using animal testing!
