Glossybox July 2016 edition

July 24, 2016

It's a new month which means new beauty boxes arrive, its one of my most exciting times of the month especially receiving my Glossybox and this months box was a winner!
We had a couple of sneak peeks from Glossybox through their social media channels, so we knew that there was a tanning product and a makeup brush included in this months box.

Along with the two items from the sneak peaks there was 3 other items included in my box this month, two being makeup items and one a hair brush, I like this months balance of items with having two tools inside and more makeup items than skin care; I'm really pleased with my box.

Blank Canvas F20 Flat Brush - £12.55
I'm becoming a makeup brush fanatic so receiving a new brush in this months box was very exciting for me. This brush is from Blank Canvas which is a brand I've never heard of before but from my first impressions I am impressed with the quality of the brush. The bristles feel soft to touch on the flat top which is great for buffing in makeup and blending, the bristles are still quite dense and stay put when buffing and applying makeup. With the hot pink handle and gold features its a fashionable brush as well as good quality and the brush is lightweight enough to carry around if needed. Overall I'm happy with this brush and would definitely purchase more brushes from Blank Canvas in the future.

UTAN & Tone Nourishing Night Créme 25ml - £12.50
Tanning products are not something I use, I did as a teenager and had many streaky situations that puts me off using tanning products now plus I quite like my pale skin tone now. However for a review purpose I tried a small amount of this UTAN night créme and found it left me with a light shade of golden bronze that was made me look like I had caught a little sun on holiday, continual use would mean a darker shade would be achieved. As for streaks, applying in a circular motion meant the area I applied the cream too was streak free, I would feel confident in applying this on a larger area of my body.

Hawaiian Tropic Island Berry Lip Gloss SPF25 - £6.99
Hawaiian Tropic is a well known brand to me and I loved receiving some dry oil sun protection in my May Glossybox you can read my post about that box here. This month Glossy has thrown in a lip protection product in the form of a lip gloss that has a berry scent and fruity taste to it. Once applied the gloss doesn't seem to leave a shade on my lips but has a shiny look to it which can look great during the summer; although I'm more of a matte person myself. The gloss isn't sticky which was very pleasant unlike some other glosses that can be super sticky and uncomfortable to wear. With an SPF 25 and the UVA protect stamp its a winning product for summer!

Icona Milano Emotion Allowed Mascara - £13.04
I've never heard of this brand before, the tube says the product is made in Italy which makes sense with the 'Milano' part of the name. First impressions are that the product looks a little cheap and feels it for that matter, the packaging is very simple with just a small design feature around the neck of the tube which was smudged too. The wand is thin which is good to get into the lashes easier but not a lot of product comes off the wand on first application meaning more than one application is needed so for a lazy non-morning person this isn't good. As for water-proofness, the mascara did stay put and took a little effort to wash off, so that element was good however I don't think I would rate this mascara and wouldn't repurchase.

Hairon De-tangle brush - £6.99
Hairon was also featured in my May Glossybox with some hair ties that I loved so finding another product from this brand in this months box was awesome. This small, ergonomically designed hair brush is perfect for popping in my handbag and I love the mint blue colour. I personally do have knotty hair especially when my hair is wet so I use de-tangling brush all the time. The bristles on this brush are different sizes so run through my hair easily without tugging or snagging, this is a great brush all round, design, purpose, size and colour! Can I get one in purple too???

Another awesome box from Glossybox this month, I've said this before but glossy have been upping their game for months now and I'm getting better and better boxes every month. Speaking of great boxes us glossies already know about an item included in August's box, we have had a choice from 4 different MUA Cosmetics eyeshadow palettes, if you picked your palette earlier in the month you should receive that in your August box; if not Glossybox will choose you a palette. I love it when we get a choice of an item it makes the boxes more personal and unique; I'm super excited for next months box, roll on August.

If you fancy signing up to Glossybox and receiving a MUA Cosmetics palette in next months box you can sign up here for just £10.00 per month plus P&P and if your a student you can get discount using UNiDAYs too.
