My first GlossyBox of 2016 - January

February 01, 2016

I've been a glossy for 4 months now so this is my 4th box from them, 5th if you include my NARS box I luckily got in November (read that post here).
This months box was in the usual pink box wrapped beautifully in tissue paper on the inside and products lay on a bed a shredded paper. The box packaging really is gorgeous and makes opening my box every month that bit more special.

What was in the box....?

NICKA K Shine Airbrush Blending Sponge - Full Size £6.50
This is my favourite item in my box this month, it's the first time since signing up to GlossyBox that I've received a makeup tool. I have used the Real Techniques sponge for the last couple of months so I was looking to buy a new sponge soon and now I don't have too. This Nicka K sponge feels so soft to touch and feels the same when being used to apply makeup. I've been using sponges to help blend my contour makeup, which currently is a powder palette from Makeup Revolution however I have the cream contour palette to try out, I think this sponge will help to blend out the cream well and help keep my makeup streak free. 10 out of 10 for this product, thanks GlossyBox!

Teęez Cosmetics Oasis Gem Lipstick in shade Coral - Full Size £11.93
First of all the packaging on the lipstick and the box is gorgeous!! I've never owned such a pretty lipstick before. Secondly it's a matte lipstick!! I'm loving matte lipsticks lately as they give a more detailed and bold look for me personally. The matte effect of this lipstick is very true and looks great when being worn. As for the shade at first I was gutted because it is a coral (peachy, orangery) shade which I don't like and don't suit however this is a very natural shade and can actually be worn on pretty much anyone I think. I unexpectedly love the shade and this product will be staying in my makeup bag for sure!

GLOSSYBOX Eyeshadow in shade Glossy Mauve - Full Size £7.10
I was excited about receiving the GlossyBox own brand eyeshadow and even more excited to see the shade. The dark purple colour is right on key for me, I love to create smokey eye looks and this shade is great for that. The pigmentation of the eyeshadow is awesome, I found that very little product was needed to achieve the desired shade on my eye lids. The packaging has the GlossyBox logo on it which is nice too see and the shadow is in a sleek black compact, it's also another full size product in this months box! I'd love too see more of GlossyBox's own branded products in future boxes!

Madara Cellular Repair Serum - Luxury Size (full size £38.00)
Serum isn't something I use but I suppose as I am getting older I should start to use some more skin care products. This is a good sized item and will last quite a while, I love how easy the product is to rub in and takes only minutes to cover the face. My skin felt soft to touch straight after applying but after using the product for a few days I haven't seen any change in my skin other than more blemishes. Maybe I need to use the product for longer but for now this product isn't for me.

UNANI Dermo Defense Face Mask - Full Size £11.36
I've become a little bit obsessed with using face masks after receiving quite a few in my beauty subscription boxes in the last couple of months, I've been using one a week at least. This isn't like my usual face masks as its in a tube packaging and you have to smooth the product on you face, leave it on for 10 minutes then rinse it off. I personally prefer a peal off or full mask as it much easier for when time is limited. This mask was fairly easy to apply onto the skin, it felt a little heavy on my skin at first but settled after a minute or two, washing the product off took a few minutes but it was as simple as washing your face normally. My skin was left feeling refreshed and smooth, I will be using this product again when I have more time on my hands. This product is recommended for sensitive skin which is another plus as not every skin care product reacts well with my skin.

This months box included 4 full size products out of 5 which is just amazing for the price tag of just £10.00 (plus £3.25 p+p). You can sign up to GlossyBox here and look forward to your February box which will start to ship on the 5th in a beautiful special box design! I can't wait for mine to arrive.

Included on the content card in this months box was a sneak peak of an item that's going to be in February's box, every Glossy subscriber will receive a MUA Power Pout Glaze lip shade and you get to pick which shade you receive. An email will be sent out with information on how to pick your lip shade. I've chose the purple shade because it was the darkest colour however they are all very light shades ready for summer!
