I mentioned in a previous post (The blogs been quiet here's why) that I wanted to re-think my blog and move it towards a theme or themes. Now university is finished and I have more free time I want to focus on my blog.

Themes I've chosen are 'Fashion', 'Beauty' and 'Lifestyle'. I understand this is still 3 themes to focus on, after looking through the posts I've published already most are fashion, beauty and shopping related. Some lifestyle events are added in as well making these 3 themes perfect for me. Most of my posts involve me talking about something I've brought or got a deal on, I almost never pay full price for something so I was thinking that's another niche my blog has, sales and deals!

'Gem's Up North' is a pay on words because the 'Gem's' is firstly my name but also my sale finds are gems, one of my friends suggested 'Gem finds Gems' as a name so thats where I've got the idea. The 'Up North' part is basically because I'm from Greater Manchester which is North, Manchester is where I do a lot of my shopping if not online so it made sense.

Over the next few days my blog will transition into my new blog, the name will change, the background and design will change however I've decided to keep all my older posts live as they show where I've come from and my improvement as a new blogger. I'm currently creating a banner for the blog design on Photoshop and Illustrator which is show my new blog name and hopefully the theme and personalty of my blog.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on my blog change and improvements.

I shall now be ending my posts with Gem and not Ketchup. I won't be saying bye to Ketchup though as my Instagram will remain the same 'zombiesdonteatketchup' at least for the foreseeable future anyway.
